M-7 EXHAUST FOR YAMAHA
The M-7 exhaust system has been completely redesigned for the 2007-08 model. Increased throttle response and more over-rev were accomplished with the new header design. In 2008 the YZ450F underwent some changes most notably the exhaust system. Although the fitment is the same as the 2007 model, the improvements are drastically better for 2008. The complete stainless steel race system with a brushed aluminum canister completely transforms the bike. Gain a whopping 7.1HP @5600 RPM, and see a 15% increase in power from 3900-6500RPM. Similar gains on a slightly smaller scale will be seen with just the slip on. The new M-7 exhaust systems add an impressive punch. Removable USFS approved spark arrestor included on all aluminum canister models. Aluminum is a very lightweight and strong material used extensively in the aerospace, automotive, and of course, motorcycle industry. Aluminum is a wise choice due to its excellent strength to weight ratio, corrosion resistance and clean look. Lightweight, thin-wall .060 extruded 6061 aluminum alloy that is heat treated to a T-6 condition for increased strength, durability, hardness and finish hold is used. After the aluminum has been heat treated, it is cut to length and given either a polished or brushed satin finish. Ounce for ounce, aluminum is the best value of the M Series mufflers. As a rule the aluminum mufflers weigh about 8.3oz. more than Titanium or Carbon Fiber mufflers.
